Print quality and reliability
The HP 85X (CE285X) toner cartridge delivers even, sharply contrasted black text and consistent results throughout the cartridge’s life. The compatible cartridge is manufactured to the original’s specification and undergoes quality control. A reliable choice for everyday office and home use.
Replacing the toner cartridge
Replacing the cartridge is simple and needs no tools. Open the printer’s cover, remove the empty cartridge, take the new CE285X cartridge out of its packaging, gently shake it from side to side to distribute the toner evenly, remove the protective strip, and slide the cartridge into place until it clicks. Close the cover — the printer will detect the new toner automatically. Recycle the old cartridge.
When to replace the toner?
If light patches or streaks appear on the printout, or the text becomes pale, the toner is running low. Before replacing, you can gently shake the cartridge to even out the remaining powder. Keep a spare cartridge on hand so printing isn’t interrupted.
