Replacing the toner cartridge
Replacing the cartridge is simple and needs no tools. Open the printer’s cover, remove the empty cartridge, take the new CE742A cartridge out of its packaging, gently rock it from side to side to distribute the powder evenly, remove the protective strip, and slide the cartridge into place until it clicks. Close the cover — the printer detects the new toner automatically. Recycle the old cartridge.
When to replace the toner?
If light patches or streaks appear in printouts, or colours turn pale, the toner is running low. Before replacing it, you can gently shake the cartridge to redistribute the remaining powder evenly. Keep a spare cartridge on hand so printing doesn’t get interrupted.
