Print quality and reliability
The drum unit (W1120A) is responsible for transferring the image onto the paper. A drum in good condition gives an even printout without shading or streaks. When the drum wears out, the page starts to show recurring spots, grey backgrounds or streaks — that’s the sign it’s time to replace the drum.
Replacing the drum unit
Open the printer’s cover, remove the old drum unit and take the new W1120A out of its packaging without touching the green light-sensitive surface. Fit the drum in place until it clicks, and reset the drum counter in the printer’s menu if needed. Recycle the old drum.
When should the drum be replaced?
Replace the drum when the printer reports the drum is running low, or when the printout shows recurring defects (spots, lines, grey background) that toner replacement doesn’t fix. The drum yield is up to 16000 pages.
